Abstract: Taking aplanar steel frame as an example,we studies steel frame’s temperature distribution and mechanical response under the fire with thermal mechanical coupling function of ANSYS.Results show that temperature distribution of girder cross-section under the fire is nonlinear, beam web and column flange on fire have the highest temperature, them bottom flange and the web,and top flange and unfired flange’s temperature are the lowest.Beam-column joints and column base are weak links under the fire and should be protected more.Catenary action of framed girder is in favor of structural fire resistance.
