Abstract: Traditional college English teaching can no more meet the social requirements for multi-talents.It is an inevitable trend to carry out ESP teaching in higher vocational colleges and most public English teachers are faced with the situation to transform to ESP teachers.Based on the analysis of necessity for public English teachers to transform to ESP teachers,this paper discusses how public English teachers definite their roles properly and realize role transition successfully to give service to higher vocational English teaching preferably.
