Abstract: The process of globalization has sped up communication among different cultures,followed by the conflict resulted from cultural differences.The language taboo is one of the crucial factors in cross-cultural communication,which is worthy of enough attention.Through illustrating the two important aspects,this paper summarizes the fundamental characteristics of language taboos,and analyzes the mechanism of language taboos,aiming to further explore the cross-cultural communication skills.
